Virginia Faye Custogeorge

Virginia Faye Cutsogeorge (nee) Richardson died in her home on June 3, 2019 in the Villages, Florida, due to complications following breast cancer. She was 85.

Mrs. Cutsogeorge was born on May 30, 1934 in Bonnie Blue, Virginia to her parents Delos and Ocie Richardson. She married George Cutsogeorge on July 23, 1955. The Cutsogeorges moved to Long Island. She graduated from the Old Westbury, LI with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. Faye worked in the BOCES system in Old Westbury, Bellmore and East Meadow. She retired after 20 years of service and dedicated her remaining time to caring for her husband and grandchildren.

Mrs. Cutsogeroge was a patient and supportive teacher with a passion for music, literacy and the arts. Inspiring creativity and dedication in her family was her life long goal.

Mrs. Cutsogeorge is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Kevin Nixon of Wilmington, NC and her son and daughter-in-law Douglas Cutsogeorge and May O’Malley of Albany, New York. She is preceded in death by her husband George, her sisters Ina, Dorothy and Geneva and her brother Roy; and by her sons Robert and Christopher.

Mrs. Cutsogeorge will be buried in a private ceremony on July 19, 2019 at the Ashokan Rural Cemetery with a reception to follow. Bishop Frank Betancout will officiate the ceremony. Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
