Ruth B. Carmeli

Ruth B. Carmeli, 96, daughter of James and Fannie Bouton, died peacefully in her sleep on October 23, 2019 at the Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge, NJ. A longtime resident of Roxbury, she relocated several years ago to be closer to family.

Born in New York on April 5, 1923 Ruth was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army from 1945 through 1948. She leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Carmeli (Colleen Ambrozy), her daughter Margaret Carmeli and son-in-law (Arthur Peslak), her grandchildren, Rebecca of Millstone, NJ, and Alyssa and Hannah of Boulder CO. Her brother and sister-in-law Donald Bouton (Claire Bouton) survive as do other family members and close friends. She was pre-deceased by her husband Anthony Carmeli.

Ruth will be laid to rest at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ. A memorial service will be held at that time. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Ruth B. Carmeli to the Reformed Church Home Employee Scholarship Fund (1900 Route 18 North, Old Bridge, NJ 08857), VITAS Hospice (1040 Broad Street, Suite 300, Shrewsbury, NJ 07702) or the Roxbury Public Library (Main Street, Roxbury, NY 12474).
