Robert G Archibald Sr, born August 12, 1935 passed peacefully at his home on January 14 2019 after enduring the trials of cancer with courage and grace. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years (Minerva Ann), his son (Robert Jr), brother (Ronald), sister (Dawn) and his parents (Ralph and Mildred). Bob is survived by a son (William), daughter (Karen), brother (Randy), three grandchildren (Jessica, Brenda, Christy) and one great grandchild (Carter). Surviving also are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends whom he considered family.

Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and worked many years as a draftsman for Dependable Steel Rule Die Manufacturers. He also did stone work, carpentry, painted houses and sold firewood. Bob loved spending his life in his little corner of the Catskills and enjoyed many outdoor activities. He spent a great deal of time honoring his Native American heritage and “the old ways” taught to him by his family. He canned, froze, butchered, and preserved as much of his own food as he could; much preferring that to any store-bought items. Bob was an avid hunter and he fished like it was his religion. In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity or foundation that aligns with Bob’s way of life (hunting/fishing, conservation/ preservation, agriculture etc.) or take the time to learn or teach someone some of the “old ways” that Bob loved so much.
