Mildred “Millie” Rosa

Mildred Virginia Rosa, 93 of Dry Brook passed away quietly on July 20, 2019 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville. She was the eldest of three children born to Adelbert and Elva Kittle on December 15, 1925. Mildred married Lester Rosa of Dry Brook on November 11, 1945. Together they built their home and raised six children. They were married 71 years when Lester passed away in 2017. Known as Millie by many of her friends, she is survived by her daughter Carol (Bill) Johnson of Dry Brook, sons Alan (Deb) of Dry Brook, Gary (Lori) of New Kingston, Gene (Gayle) of Marlow New Hampshire, Patti (Joe) Farleigh of Albany, and Ann (Ken) Aiken of Delhi, 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and parents as well as her brother Bud and sister Rose, and her grandson Jake.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 25, 2019 at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, New York from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by the Rev. James Krueger, Pastor of St. James Episcopal Church, Lake Delaware, New York. Committal prayers will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Mildred V. Rosa may be made to the Margaretville Community Pantry or the Margaretville Area Christmas Project. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, New York.
