Karl Leo Kohler Sr., 72, formerly of Gilboa, who was living in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on November 8, 2019 at his residence. He was born on January 27, 1947 in Gilboa, the son of Miles and Hazel (Brownell) Kohler. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1967 – 1971.
Kohler worked as a machinist and a tool and die maker at a Precision machine ship. He enjoyed fishing and collecting record albums.
Karl is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) Bartley Kohler, who he married on November 30, 1974, and three sons, Karl Jr., Kristin, and Kevin. Grandchildren Kaylee, Alysse, Isaac, Grace and Miles also survive as does great grandchild Christian and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Gilboa Methodist Church with the Rev. Dottie Morris officiating. Commital prayers will follow in the Gilboa Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home.
