Robert (Bob) Keith Eignor, born February 9, 1956 in Margaretville NY to the late Lloyd R Eignor and the late Marie Joyce Peet Eignor, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, under the care of his family and Saratoga County Hospice, after bravely battling cancer.

Bob is survived by his three children, daughters Kelly King of Belgrade, MT, Rebecca Eignor (Andrew), and his special granddaughter Eliza Grace Martinez of Thornton, CO, and his son Adam Eignor of Saugerties, NY, along with Adam and Rebecca’s mom, and Bob’s dear friend, Kris Anne Eignor of Saugerties, NY. He is also survived by his siblings, Christie Pierce (Wayne) Tannersville, NY, Daniel Eignor (Donna) Bishopville, SC, Nancy Foley (Michael) Saratoga Springs, NY, Merry Eignor Westfield VT, Linda Preston, Westfield, VT, Sally Clough (David) Delanson, NY, and Laury Kerr (Eric) Malta, NY, and many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his special friend, Susan Cavanagh, and his favorite dog, Peanut.

There were many things Bob loved in life, but family and friends topped the list. He always had time for family and friends. And Peanut

He loved working and often worked seven days a week. He worked for Main Care for 19 years and drove cement truck for Wadler’s before that. One of the most difficult results of his illness was when he could no longer work.

He took pride in caring for the Halcottsville Cemetery. On most Saturdays and Sundays, Bob could be found at the cemetery, mowing and trimming, and straightening and cleaning the ancient headstones.

He was a member of the Margaretville Fire Department for 15 years. One of his jobs was keeping the fire trucks maintained and polished.

Bob made friends easily. He was outgoing, kind, and warm, and maintained his sense of humor even when very ill. He loved to fish and, no matter the weather, on April 1st, he went fishing. He also enjoyed golf and often participated in tournaments to support the Arkville Fire Department.

Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020, at the Miller Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held at the Roxbury Methodist Church on Friday, Jan 3 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Richard Dykstra. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Margaretville Fire Department, 77 Church Street, Margaretville, NY 12455. Arrangements were provided by Miller Funeral Home, Main Street, Roxbury, New York.
