Following that, he worked for the Town of Middletown highway department, part of the time as the deputy superintendent, until he “retired” in 1996. He continued working summers until he was 83 years old. Jack enjoyed deer season; spending time at the Faulkner camp with the guys. He was an avid reader of western novels. He loved any unique rock (was fascinated by petrified wood.) He loved feeding the crows. His love of working and story telling was widely known and he was always willing to lend a hand. He will be missed by many.
