Florence Nolan

Florence K. Nolan, 91 of Dry Brook Road died Tuesday Jan. 23, 2018 at the Chestnut Park Care Center in Oneonta after a short three month stay. She was born in Shavertown July 16, 1926 daughter of the late Charles and Kathrine King Ebert.

Florence was a native and life long Catskill Mountains resident. She had been employed at a various locations including: both Bailey’s and Mayes’ Furniture Factories, Kass Inn as a waitress for many years, and Rotron Manufacturing in West Hurley. She taught Sunday School in Arkville, was an avid reader, enjoyed such home crafts as crocheting, baking, and tending to the vegetable gardens. She was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are: a son John T. Nolan Jr of Dry Brook, a daughter Roberta Inman of Binghamton, a sister Ida Sines of Walton, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her husband John T. Nolan in 2010, son Roger Ebert, and siblings: Pete, Vincent, Charlie, Anna, and Tillie.

A Spring graveside service will take place at the Bedell Cemetery on the Red Kill Road in Fleischmanns.
