Becky Misner

Rebecca L. (Gray) Misner peacefully passed on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 15 surrounded by family.

She was the daughter of Paul and Lillian Gray. She was born on September 28, 1938 on the farm where she was raised in Fall Clove, Andes. After graduating from Andes Central School, she worked at the old Margaretville Hospital as a secretary. She married Ivan Misner in 1961, and stopped working to raise her two children, later moving to Arkville.

Becky worked 20-plus years for Dr. Madgi Halim at the current Margaretville Hospital. She went on to work for White’s Dairy, then back to Margaretville Hospital as the radiology secretary. She touched many lives while in all of those jobs. She retired four years ago to spend time with her husband and enjoy the things she loved.

Becky had a great love of cooking, preserving, pickling and especially baking. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. She really loved flowers and had a beautiful flower garden at all of the homes where she lived. She enjoyed her cats and spoke of them often. Her biggest love was her family, starting with her husband of 55 years who passed almost one year ago to the day. She loved both of her children and devoted her life to raising them. Her grandchildren were the great joy of her life and she bragged about them to anyone who would listen. Her love also encompassed her extended family, especially her many nieces and nephews, as well as many wonderful friends. She will always be remembered for her kind and sweet nature, and her beautiful smile.

Becky was predeceased by her husband, Ivan Misner, her sister Cynie (Gray) Harrington, and her brother Charlie Gray.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Bramley (John Hubbell) of Margaretville, her son Allen Misner of Arkville, grandchildren Jeremy Bramley of Charlotte, NC, Mellisa Misner (Colin Felece) of Arkville, Nathan and Vanessa Bramley of Margaretville, and Nicole Misner of Arkville. She is also survived by a brother Gary Gray, a brother-in-law Mike (Sharon) Harrington, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Haggerty. There are also many cousins, nieces and nephews surviving.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Delaware County Humane Society, Delhi.

Calling hours will be held at the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville on Sunday Oct. 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at New Kingston United Presbyterian Church on Monday Oct. 23 at 11:00 a.m.

Committal prayers will follow at Sanford Cemetery, Margaretville.
