Community Expo on tap in GG; Still time for vendors to participate

Grand Gorge — Plans are nearly complete for this Saturday, Sept. 30 when the Grand Gorge Business Alliance will host its first-ever Delaware County Community and Small Business Expo at the Grand Gorge Civic Center.

Businesses from throughout the county have signed on to join non-profit organizations at vendor tables selling their wares or handing out information and goodies that support their causes. The all-day event begins at 10 a.m. and is a great opportunity to bring people together in a part of the county that isn’t always at the top of people’s minds.

In announcing the event, members of the alliance noted that “Good old Mom and Pop entrepreneurs have always been a vital part of the day to day life of a community. Big box stores and corporation do not make a community. Main Street businesses help the citizens of the communities ensure a place of comfort, happiness and security.”

Good investment

Table spaces at the event rent for as little as $20 (four feet) with six- and eight-foot spaces also available. Setup for the event can be done on both Friday evening and early Saturday morning for vendor convenience. Businesses that can’t be there in person are also able to purchase wall ads to promote themselves at the event.

Billed as a “family fun” event as well as a business showcase, there will be food and activities going on throughout the day including a fun facts for kids table sponsored by the Catskill Mountain News. Both the News and the Margaretville Telephone Company have agreed to serve as major sponsors for the first annual Grand Gorge showcase.

For visitors to the showcase, both parking and admission are free. For more information or to book a vendor space, visit or call Joe Resch at 607 588-6804
