She was the Town Clerk for the town of Conesville for 18 years, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Fire Police, Conesville Fire Department and the Conesville Mountaintop Seniors, serving in the leadership roles for many of these organizations. She served as a Girl Scout and 4H Leader when her daughters were young. As a youth, she participated in girl scouts, band and choir among other things. A lover of animals, her home was never without a furry friend, and the wild birds knew they could rely on her during the cold winter months.

Nancy was born on May 11, 1949, the third and youngest child of George and Virginia (Carey) Christman. Her parents, as well as her brother, Robert Christman preceded her death.

She is survived by many who are grateful for having been a part of her life. Among them are husband John Sweatman, daughters Carrie (Michael) Holt, Rebecca Sweatman and Sarah Sweatman; granddaughters Kendra and Madison Holt; her sister, Katherine Reike, sister in-law Una (Sweatman) Hughes and many nieces and nephews.

Her family and friends will miss her wit, sense of humor, giving nature, and guidance.

A celebration of life will be held at the Conesville Chapel on Friday Sept 22, 2017 at 10:00am with the Rev. Dottie Morris, officiating. Nancy has requested that no flowers be given, but that you show your love by supporting the organizations she loved including the Conesville Chapel, Conesville Rescue Squad and Catskill Area Hospice.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, NY.
