Local-motive brings the harvest bounty on board D&U

Specialty train rolls on Sept. 28 from Arkville depot

Arvkille — Following a wildly successful Local-motive event on the DURR, the Arkville based train and the Arkville based MARK Project will host a second local-motive event on Thursday, Sept. 28,

All aboard will enjoy the scrumptious bounty of a Catskills harvest During a 2- plus-hour roundtrip rail ride from Arkville to Roxbury where guests will savor a true taste of the Catskills. Artisanal brews and spirits, cheeses, and other locally sourced goodies from mesclun to muffins and everything in between will be featured.

More than a dozen vendors will create a smorgasbord of cheeses, meats, syrups and sauces with locally distilled, pressed and brewed beverages. The elegant and commodious Rip Van Winkle Flyer, once the locomotive limousine of railroad barons, departs the DURR depot at 5 p.m. As the sun sets and twilight descends on the peak of fall foliage season, the amazing fare will match those magnificent vistas.

The DURR, in partnership with the MARK Project, salutes the cultural and economic contributions local growers and craft beverage producers make to the region and offer this gourmet trek to Roxbury to showcase these talented producers to their current customers and to grow their future fan base. The outing includes live music by The Sidecars, complimentary beverages and light fare, and passengers are welcome to support their favorite food vendors with additional purchases.

Advanced reservations are a must and can be made by calling the MARK Project at 845 586-3500. This fantastic journey into the flavors and harvest scenery of the Catskills is brought to you by the MARK Project and DURR and sponsored by MTC .
