Ronald Segnini

Ronald R. Segnini Sr. 70, of Bonnie View Avenue died Monday June 19, 2017 at the Kingston Hospital after a brief battle with leukemia.

He was born April 11, 1947 in Margaretville son of the late Romeo Segnini, and Doris Sprague Segnini Coss. A native, and life long Catskill Mountain's resident, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Ulster County Highway Department for over 25 years. Upon his retirement, he worked as a lift-operator at the Belleayre Ski Center. He worked on the farm as a child, and even at the age of 70, he was caring for the rescue animals at the Mighty-Fine Farm. He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, caring for the animals, and taking motorcycle rides thru the mountains. He was a gifted mechanic, and a jack-of-all-trades. Ron was an enthusiastic NASCAR and boxing fan. Most of all, the family remembers him for his gentle, quiet, and loving manner. Surviving are his parents: Doris and Albert Coss of Margaretville, a son: Ronald (Kim) Segnini Jr. of Halcott Center, a sister: Loretta Laine of Andes, two brothers: Lance of NC, and Dodd Coss of Roxbury, two grandsons: Jacob and Mitchell Bugge, and a great granddaughter Madison. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 1996. Friends were received on Thursday at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home. A Service to Celebrate the Life of Ron was held on Friday at 11am, also at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home in Phoenicia. Burial was in the Shandaken Rural Cemetery Rt. 28 Shandaken. Memories may be shared with the family on Ron's Commemorative Page at www.gormleyfuneralhome.com
