Ronald R. Segnini Sr.

Pine Hill - Ronald R. Segnini Sr. 70, of Bonnie View Avenue died Monday June 19, 2017 at the Kingston Hospital after a brief battle with leukemia. 

He was born April 11, 1947 in Margaretville son of the late Romeo Segnini, and Doris Sprague Segnini Coss. A native, and life long Catskill Mountain's resident, he was a heavy equipment operator for the Ulster County Highway Department for over 25 years. Upon his retirement, he worked as a lift-operator at the Belleayre Ski Center. He worked on the farm as a child, and even at the age of 70, he was caring for the rescue animals at the Mighty-Fine Farm. He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, caring for the animals, and taking motorcycle rides thru the mountains. He was a gifted mechanic, and a jack-of-all-trades. Ron was an enthusiastic NASCAR and boxing fan. Most of all, the family remembers him for his gentle, quiet, and loving manner. 

Surviving are his parents: Doris and Albert Coss of Margaretville, a son: Ronald (Kim) Segnini Jr. of Halcott Center, sister: Loretta Laine of Andes, two brothers: Lance of NC, and Dodd Coss of Roxbury. 2 grandsons: Jacob and Mitchell Bugge, and a great granddaughter Madison. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara in 1996. 

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Ron will be held on Friday at 11am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia . Burial in the Shandaken Rural Cemetery Rt. 28 Shandaken.
