A bedrock of the community

To The Editor:

The Board of Directors of the renamed Phoenicia Playhouse (formerly STS Playhouse) would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to all those who joined us for our first annual fundraiser, Starry Starry Night, on Saturday, May 27. Through the generosity of those who volunteered, those who performed and those who dug into their pockets, we raised approximately $21,250.

Now the real work begins - our little theatre in the Catskills is ready for big changes. Starry Starry Night guests were the first to preview an exciting future for the rebranded Phoenicia Playhouse – a space where community can enjoy the arts year-round with an expanded schedule of entertainment, workshops and family events. Our capital improvement plans include much needed repairs and improvements to the Playhouse, including structural reinforcements, ADA accessibility, a new lobby space, renovations to the stage, offices and bathrooms, and creating outside gathering and seating areas.

The Phoenicia Playhouse is not only a bedrock of the community, but also a proud member of the community. We’re working hard on grant proposals, sponsorships, and a variety of future fundraisers. We’re excited to begin this journey but we’ll also need your help and support. If you’d like to contribute, volunteer, or learn more about upcoming events, please go to phoeniciaplayhouse.com for more information. And be sure to mark your calendars for The Wedding Singer, July 7 – 23!

Thank you again for a wonderful night and the start of a very starry future!

Board of Directors,
Phoenicia Playhouse
