Bag Ali will present its Fabulous Spring Collection of Handbags and Accessories in the Margaretville Hospital lobby on Wednesday, May 17 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The Bag Ali Collection includes the hottest handbag styles made from buttery-soft leathers and fashion materials. Also being featured are chic metallics and prints, all in the latest colors and shapes, plus elegant bags for evening, briefcases, scarves, wallets, backpacks and small leather goods for women and men. The Andes Roundtable will host Dave Tobias who will present on New York City’s land acquisition program, which acquires land and conservation easements at fair market value from willing sellers throughout the city’s watershed. He will provide information on the current status of the program. Tobias has an MS degree from Yale Hunting Tavern, 7 p.m.

Weapons & War Bonds: Delaware County in World War I exhibit sponsored by the Delaware County Historical Society opens with a wine and cheese reception at 4 p.m. The new exhibit recognizes the centennial of America’s involvement in World War I. The exhibit highlights Delaware County’s involvement in the war – both at home and abroad. Items on display will include WW I uniforms, gas masks, posters, diaries, letters, and trench art. Jazz at the Open Eye presents The Reggie Pittman / Loren Daniels Quartet in concert at 7 p.m. The evening will begin with a special guest appearance by vocalist and WIOX radio personality Andy Cahill. Margaretville Central School hosts the annual John Riedl Wellness Run/Walk and Wellness Fair event from 8:30-11 a.m. The morning features exhibits and performances by students, faculty, staff and community including spin demonstrations and cheerleading and gymnastics performances. Belleayre sponsors a Bounce House and free tree seedlings are available. Free health food samples, boxing demos and other activities round out the morning before the walk begins at 11:30.

The Business Association of Margaretville will host its annual Spring on Main Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free admission, live music, chicken barbecue, food vendors, businesses openings - Catskill Mountain Tattoo and Catskills Seasons Ltd., book signing at Home Goods of Margaretville, Catskill Candies and Confections samplings, Margaretville Liquor wine tasting; Cheese Barrel local cheese tasting, The Happy Giraffe will be setting up a Main Street booth, Picnic! will host cookie decorating, Foothills Shoe will have a sale and the Auxiliary Thrift Shop will hold a sale. The Big Indian Hamlet Beautification Committee will sponsor its Eighth Annual Roadside Clean Up at 10 a.m. Volunteers meet at the firehouse with work gloves to get route assignments. Peekamoose Restaurant will host a luncheon for all clean up volunteers afterwards.

The Lanesville Church hosts a Roast Beef Supper at the church on Rt. 214 in the hamlet. Takeouts are available from 4:30 to 5:00 p.m. with dine in service from 5:15 to 7:00 p.m. All are welcome.

Margaretville Hospital celebrates 50 years of EMS Service to the community with an open house from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments. Past and present EMS members are invited, as are all community members.
