Dorothy Van Dusen

Dorothy Irene Van Dusen passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at her home in Grand Gorge.

Dorothy was the daughter of Harvey Marshall and Adeline Barringer. She was a lifelong resident of Grand Gorge.

She is survived by her son, Wayne and his wife Helen of Jupiter, FL.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her brothers, Justin and Albert, and a sister, Georgiana.

She graduated from Grand Gorge Central School and attended Albany Business College. Dorothy was employed as a secretary for the Grand Gorge Central School and then worked for Frank Pinders & Son until she retired.

Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She also enjoyed bowling, the Yankees, and gardening. She also enjoyed dining out and travel, especially to visit and spend time with family in Florida.

A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 2 at 1 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury with the Reverend Dykstra officiating. Calling hours were held Saturday, April 1 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in the Fairview Cemetery in Grand Gorge.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
