Donald Osborn

Donald “Donnie” Osborn, 79, of Roxbury, passed away Tuesday March 28, 2017 in the mountains he loved after a brief illness.

He was born December 17, 1937 in Prattsville, NY, the son of Benjamin and Anna (Dent) Osborn.  He attended Roxbury Central School and graduated in 1957.

Donnie married Antoinette “Toni” Osborn on October 26, 1974 at St Philip Neri Church in Grand Gorge, NY.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Toni, his daughter Deanna “Dee” of Roxbury and his “second” daughter Cathy Camer of Roxbury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Paul and Benjamin and his sister Ethel.

Donnie worked in construction for Richard Lutz and then for Lutz Feed driving truck for 26 years. He then took a position with the Roxbury Highway department to be closer to his family and home. He was a member of the ICG Hunting Club and a member of the Roxbury Fire Department for more than 50 years. He was also well known for his knowledge of the history of Roxbury. Donnie enjoyed being around his family and friends and enjoyed the recent winters in Florida.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 1, 2017 at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury with the Reverend Dykstra officiating. Burial will follow in the Roxbury Cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Friday March 31,  from 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury.  In lieu of flowers,  donations may be made in the memory of Donnie to the Roxbury Fire Department.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home Roxbury.
