Louis Giorgi Jr.

Louis “Gigi” Giorgi Jr., 78, a resident of New Kingston, and formerly of Port Chester, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, surrounded by his family after a long illness.

He was born July 6, 1938 in Port Chester to the late Louis and Margaret DeCrescenzo Giorgi. He was married on October 4, 1959 at Corpus Christi Church to Emily Colaluca.

Louis graduated from Port Chester High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1958. He was the owner and operator of Em-Ro Builders Corp. in Port Chester. Mr. Giorgi was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in Port Chester and Sacred Heart Church in Margaretville.

Louis was an avid hunter, fisherman, and snowmobiler. He was also an accomplished stonemason. In his later years he was a tile setter and stained glass craftsman. He fulfilled his dream of retiring to the Catskill Mountains with his wife.

Louis was a devoted husband, father, and a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Emily Giorgi of New Kingston; children, Louis Giorgi, Jr. and Adelia Hunter of New Kingston, Margaret Giorgi Riehl of West Harrison, and Christopher Giorgi and wife Elizabeth of Danbury, CT; sisters, Emily Groglio of Rye Brook, Johanna Weber and husband George, and Felicia Russo Minor and husband Ira, all of Fort Meyers, FL and grandchildren, Melissa Giorgi Siciliano and husband Tony, Louis Giorgi, IV, Gianni Giorgi, Lindsay Riehl, Cayla Riehl, Ashley Giorgi, Christopher Giorgi, Jr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday March 16 at Holy Rosary Church, Don Bosco Place, Port Chester. Entombment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rye Brook.
