Phoenicia Festival of the Voice performances set for August 4-6

Phoenicia — The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice has announced its 2017 season, and it will be a celebration of all things French including love, passion, and drama!

Mark your calendars for the eighth annual Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice on August 4, 5, and 6. True to its mission, The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice will bring some of the world’s greatest vocal talent to audiences in the Catskill Region in a series of open-air summer concerts.

This year, it’s all about French culture. ..What could be more French than the life of struggling artists and young lovers in a Paris garret? The beloved opera La Boheme will grace the main stage, starring Metropolitan Opera singers John Osborn and Lynette Tapia, this year’s Grammy Award winner Lucas Meachem, plus 20-year Met veteran Richard Berstein and 2017 debutante Mireille Asselin, directed by maestro David Wroe.

Also on the program: The world premier of The Three Musketeers adapted to opera, cancan music, tributes to Edith Piaf and Yves Montand, and more.

The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice allows audiences to experience world-class talent, often only seen in metropolitan venues, in a more intimate setting while relishing the stunning beauty of the Catskill Mountains.
