Daniel Garza

Daniel Edward Garza, 54, of Roxbury, a devoted and loving father, brother, and friend, died suddenly on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017. Dan was a dedicated LPN for many years at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville and Bassett Healthcare of Cobleskill.

Born January 27, 1963, he was the son of Frank and Agnes Garza of Kelly Corners. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Anna Garza of Washingtonville, and Daniel and Theresa Lyons of Queens.

Dan is survived by his loving children, Erin Julia Garza and Austin Roe; their mother, Kimberly Roe of Roxbury; his sister, Irene Hackworth her husband James Hackworth and their son Colin Hackworth of Winter Garden, FL; his brother, Frank Garza, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA and lifelong friends Randy and Janet Kittle of Plymouth, MN and their daughter Nicole Broe of Los Angeles, CA.

At the request of Dan’s children and Dan’s own wishes, no public services will be held at this time. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held instead in the late spring or early summer at a venue to be determined. All family members and friends are invited to celebrate and reminisce.

As many know, Dan loved his children, Erin and Austin, with all his heart, and was so proud of them. They were his everything. A GoFundMe page was started by a friend for his children. It can be reached at www.gofundme.com/austin-and-erin-dans-children.

Miller Funeral Home of Roxbury assisted the family with arrangements.
