Marjorie Lloyd

Marjorie “Marge” Lloyd, 77, of Elm Street, Pine Hill died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 29, 1939 in New York City, a daughter of the late Dominick and Margaret Schmitt Biase

An area resident for decades, Marge was a positive, civic-minded, community member. She was supportive, and had formerly been active with scouting in Pine Hill, teaching Sunday school, and being the secretary of the Administrative Board of the Shandaken Methodist Church, Pine Hill Library, Museum, and Community Center. She was a former village trustee, and Mayor of Pine Hill in the 1980s until the village unincorporated.

Marge enjoyed travels throughout the United States, was an avid reader, and enjoyed tending her vegetable gardens. She had been a dedicated employee of Ulster County for over 25 years as a secretary at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. 

Surviving are her grandson, Greg Lloyd, and a brother, Richard Biase.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1988; her son, “Chuck” in 2009, and her grandson, Joshua in 2001. 

A service to celebrate the life of Marge will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 5 p.m. at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, 87 Main Street, Phoenicia with the Rev. Ralph Darmstadt as celebrant.

Friends will be received on Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Shandaken Rural Cemetery.
