On Thursday afternoon, January 19, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Marc D. Trautrimas, 50, of Brooklyn, upon his voluntary surrender to the sheriff’s office on an arrest warrant issued by Colchester Town Court for third-degree grand larceny.

Deputies say the arrest stems from their investigation of a contractor fraud complaint filed by a Town of Colchester homeowner in October, 2016. The home owner reported paying Trautrimas more than $3,000 during the fall of 2015 as a down payment pursuant to an agreement with Trautrimas who failed to commence that project or refund the homeowner’s money more than a year later.

The defendant was later arraigned in front of Judge Edel at Colchester Town Court and was released on his own recognizance.

On Thursday, Jan. 19 Dela- ware County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Brian T. Bennett, 35, of Stamford on charges of second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree felony assault, and second-degree felony assault on a police officer following an investigation into a report of an assault in progress at a restaurant in the Village of Stamford.

Deputies allege the defendant intentionally and repeatedly struck another person which did cause serious physical injury to such person in the form of a fractured vertebra, and during the course of the investigation the defendant is alleged to have assaulted a police officer and obstructed government administration by means of kicking a uniform deputy sheriff in the face.

Bennett arraigned in front of Judge Lamport at Stamford Town Court and was remanded to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
