Judith Turner

Judith Ellen Turner, 69, of Arkville passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

She was born in Rockville Centre on April 4, 1947 to Kathryn Tienken and Francis M. Turner. She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Russell Varnum and two sisters, Kathleen Turner and Barbara Bouton.

Judy was a lover of art, anti- ques, and the outdoors. She enjoyed painting and making jewelry. She loved gardening and flowers. In her younger years, she enjoyed hiking, as well as hunting ginseng and big game. She was a friend to all. She loved her cats and dogs. She was a strong-willed woman and lived on her own terms.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Wendy Buerge and granddaughter, Chloe Finn of Bovina Center; a son, Jason Poppe of Roanoke, VA; a nephew, Robert Storey of Andes; an uncle, Martin Tienken of Greenville, OH; cousins, Robert Schott of Sidney Center, Edward Schott of Greenport, Keith Storey of Davenport, Steve Storey of Sidney, Matt Storey of Stamford, Suzanne Tienken-Kramer of Huntington Station, Wendy Tienken-Porcelli of Huntington, Debbie Michael of Norfolk, VA, Nancy Dombrowski of New Port Richey, FL, Thomas Kaminski of Punta Gorda, FL and Janet Tienken of Marlton, NJ and an aunt, Hilda Tienken of Woodbury.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hynes Funeral Home.
