James Ross

James E. Ross, 75, of Binghamton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland (Doc) and Beatrice Ross; his mother-in-law, Ulrica Judson Wood and a brother in law, Kenneth G. Wood.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Jane W. Ross of Binghamton; a brother and sister in law, Conrad and Marilyn Ross of Binghamton; a niece and her spouse, Heather and David Bedillion, Cuyahoga Falls, OH; a nephew and his wife, Ian and Colleen Ross, Paris and three great-nieces and one great-nephew.

James was a board member for the Johnson City Senior Center. He had worked in retail for many years and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Naval Academy Chapel Chorale of Annapolis, Maryland. He was past president of the Lions Club in Oneonta and Norfolk, VA. He was also past president of the Coliseum Mall Merchant Association.

A funeral service will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Donations in James’ memory can be made to the Johnson City Senior Center, 30 Brocton St, Johnson City, NY 13790.
