An early Thursday morning fire has destroyed the historic Jackson & Mason Building on Main Street in Delhi. Several sources at the scene report that the blaze may have started in the kitchen of The Village Pizzeria & Restaurant, located in the adjoining Masonic Temple Building, and then spread to the Jackson & Mason building. Stephens Antiques & Collectibles, located in the Jackson & Mason Building, suffered damage. Some of the store’s antiques were carried out of the building. Fire companies from all over Delaware County, as well as Oneonta and Laurens in Otsego County, responded to the scene. The blaze was first reported shortly after 6 a.m. and it was nearly 10 a.m. before it was brought under control. Firefighters remain on the scene as of this posting.  Traffic was detoured around Main Street.  Firefighters in heavy turnout gear suffered as the days temperature rose. Power is out to several surrounding buildings including the post office and county courty building and others.  See many more photos on the Catskill Mountain News facebook page.
