Wyckoff Myers

Wycoff Myers, 93, of West Palm Beach, FL, passed away at his home on Friday, July 22, 2016. He was born February 6, 1923 in West Palm Beach to Sherman S. and Calla Hattie (Campbell) Myers.

He served in the U.S. Army, 63rd Infantry Division, attaining rank of Captain, Field Artillery, during WWII and was decorated with the Bronze Star. He graduated with High Honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1947. Organizations include Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi, scholastic; and Delta Tau Delta, social.

He married Nancy Ann Sanford, a daughter of longtime Catskill Mountain News Publisher Clarke A. Sanford, on November 29, 1947 in Margaret- ville, who predeceased him in 2012. He is survived by his three children, Gary Wyckoff Myers, Gail Myers Perry, Pamela Myers Clark; four grandchildren, Daniel H. Clark (wife, Kelly), Geoffrey C. Clark (wife, Jennifer), Mailande E. Moran, and Elliott W. Myers, and three great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Clark, Ryan W. Clark, and Alexa B. Clark.

He was with First National Bank in Palm Beach from 1948 to 1990, retiring as Executive Vice-President and Director, and remaining as Trust Consultant until 2003. He served as Scoutmaster, Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America, 1942- 1944. He was a charter member of the East Coast Estate Planning Council. His civic activities include serving on the boards of the Palm Beach Chapter of the American Red Cross, Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, Palm Beach County chapter of the National Foundation Infantile Paralysis, Goodwill Industries, South Florida Science Museum, Palm Beach County Historical Society, and the Norton Gallery of Art (president). Memberships have included Everglades Club of Palm Beach, Sailfish Club of Palm Beach, Navy League, Sons of American Revolution, Palm Beach Community Trust Fund, Society of Four Arts, English Speaking Union, the University of Florida Foundation, and the Society of Colonial Wars of the State of Florida (past Governor).

A private service is planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the South Florida Science Museum, 4801 Dreher Trail North, West Palm Beach, FL 33405, in memory of Wyckoff Myers.
