After a four- to six-week drought, most of our region received a very welcome weekend of rain showers, clouds and much cooler weather. For the most part, the rain fell pretty steadily and not just for a few torrential downpours. The ground was so parched that the bulk of the steady rain was absorbed and did not run off into the creeks as much as I feared.
