Cabaradio tribute for Terry Doyle

Pine Hill — The 26th broadcast of Catskill Cabaradio on Saturday, March 9 will be a tribute to Terry Doyle, one of the program’s originators, who passed away suddenly on February 6.

Terry was instrumental in finding musical talent for this quarterly event as well as helping the show make a seamless transition to its live radio broadcast on WIOX Community Radio.  All proceeds from raffle tickets sold at the show will go to the Terry Doyle Fund to continue Terry’s work of supporting local music at WIOX, where Terry produced nine hours of music and interviews every week.

Musicians, friends, and fans of Terry’s will have an opportunity to sing a song or tell a brief story about Terry as part of the broadcast. There will be a sign-up sheet for all those wishing to do this at the community center at 6 p.m. on the night of the show.

The program will also feature Kingston storyteller Laureate Karen Pillsworth, a performance by the TMI Project, and an interview with a monastic from Zen Mountain Monastery.  Regulars Elly Wininger and the Pine Hill Playboys will round out the show.

The free evening begins with a potluck supper at 6 p.m.   Please bring a dish to pass.  Then promptly at 7 p.m., house lights dim and the broadcast begins.
The Pine Hill Community Center is located at 287 Main St., Pine Hill. Call 254-5469 for more information.
