WIM to present Dabblers Delight
Roxbury — Have you ever wanted to try your hand at writing a children’s book? Or tackle the mysteries of writing a graphic novel? Does writing an essay about travel interest you? How about starting a blog? Writers In the Mountains (WIM) has a great solution. Take master teacher Bethany Lyttle’s new and exciting four-part survey course “Dabbler’s Delight” on the following topics on the following days: The Graphic Novel; Thursdays on September 20 and 27; Children’s Literature, Thursdays on October 4 and 11; Travel Writing, Thursdays on October 18 and 25, and Blog Writing, Thursdays on November 1 and 8. All classes will be held at the Roxbury Public Library from 6 to 8 p.m.
Bethany Lyttle will teach you the basics of each topic and will work with you to help you dare to write and discover your writer’s voice. You have the option to enroll for one or more topics at $30 a topic or take the entire course for $100.
Bethany Lyttle has worked as both a freelance writer and editor since 1995. She writes for The New York Times, Martha Stewart publications and panoply of other newspapers and magazines on a wide range of topics. Her expertise in all kinds of writing, from non-fiction to poetry, gives her a unique and sensitive perspective as a teacher. Bethany Lyttle holds an MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts. A recipient of several literary scholarships, honors and awards, her teaching experience includes adjunct work at Columbia University and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and mentoring private students. She lives in Brooklyn and Roxbury.
WIM is a local writing group whose mission is to provide a nurturing environment for the practice, appreciation and sharing of creative writing.
