Volunteers needed for holiday meal

To The Editor:
The fourth annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner is being organized and we are looking for people who are willing to help make it happen. We need people who are willing to bake desserts, serve, clean up or help in whatever capacity they can to offer a free Thanksgiving meal to people of the greater Margaretville area.
The date for the meal is November 28, Thanksgiving Day, and we hope to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the fixings to anyone who is alone or feels a need for community during this holiday. The meal will be in the Purcell Center of the Sacred Heart Church and will run from Noon to 2 p.m. Take out dinners will be available.
We are also asking for donations from our community to help fund the meal. It costs about $500 for the food supplies, and we are asking for your help to cover that cost.
The meal preparation and serving is done by volunteers, and we hope that others are willing to express their thanks through donations. Excess funds are given to the Community Pantry.
Donations can be sent to: Interfaith Council, P.O. Box 702, Margaretville, NY 12455. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Iris Mead at 586-4689. Thank you.
