Victorian Ghost Coach rolls in Roxbury Oct. 25
Roxbury — Roxbury’s Victorian Ghost Coach will emerge from the shadows once again on Saturday, Oct. 25, and thanks to its chilling popularity, reservations are a must for this horse drawn journey to the great beyond. In fact, demand for space is increasing even among the “spirited” crowd.
Ghost Tour passengers will encounter some surprises this year, and will be regaled (and spooked!) with Catskills tall tales by master raconteur, Laurie McIntosh, before their departure. Expect some appearances by the most infamous Victorian ghouls, who are now eager to join the Roxbury Spectre Set in this historic hamlet, the perfect setting for the 19th-century’s notorious and not-so-dear departed.
“We can’t speak directly about these ‘cameo’ apparitions because they are notoriously fickle, in fact, some of them are actual back stabbers. But even veteran Ghost Coach travelers will meet some new horrors as we venture into the dark side of Roxbury history,” said one of the Ghost Tour concierges, Karina Von Marvellina.
Departing from the Public Lounge every half-hour, starting at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., Ghost Tour passengers will enjoy spooky libations and Catskills lore from Laurie McIntosh. With its new kitchen up and running, Public Lounge will offer a special savory menu to fortify you for the trip ahead.
Public Lounge proprietor Jill Healy warns passengers to expect some spice, too. Ghost Tourists are encouraged to arrive an hour before their coach departs to enjoy a relaxing meal. Of course, shaken Ghost Tour passengers will find a warm welcome back at the Public if they need to settle those jangled nerves...
