Tractor drivers invited to Cauliflower fest parade

Margaretville — Agriculture will be in the spotlight at the 10th annual Margaretville Cauliflower Festival on September 28, when a parade of farm tractors will demonstrate the historic and continuing importance of these mechanical beasts of burden.
The parade will feature tractors old and new, of every make and color, driven by proud current and former farmers. It will encircle the festival grounds at 11:30 a.m. The assembly area will be at the Lauren Davis Farm, 1286 Main Street next to the festival grounds (Margaretville Village Park).

There is a free lunch!
Tractor drivers will receive a complimentary chicken barbecue lunch, courtesy of the Central Catskills Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the festival.
Tractor owners who would like to participate are invited to register by Friday, Sept. 27 by calling 586-4661. Drivers are asked to be there by 10:30 a.m. to get their identification posters and parade positions. Parking space for trailers will be available.
Visitors are welcome to watch a hay-baling and wrapping demonstration starting at 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. The field next to the village park will be harvested and spectators will have an opportunity to get an up-close look at the various stages of harvest, the equipment used, and to ask Cooperative Extension expert Dale Dewing questions about the process.
