Theodore F. Hull, 90, a resident of Johnson Hollow, Prattsville died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta.
Ted was born May 22, 1922 at Johnson Hollow, Town of Roxbury, the son of W. Bruce and Emily Ruth (Thompson) Hull. He married Reta Martha Howard on January 15, 1943 at Cooperstown. She died November 13, 2000.
Ted joined the U.S. Army on July 21, 1944 and was discharged on July 2, 1946. He graduated from Grand Gorge Central School and attended New York State Ranger’s School of Forestry at the University of Syracuse, He was employed by New York State. Ted lived in Potsdam, Albany, Cooperstown, and Cobleskill while working and after retiring.
He was a member of Cobleskill Methodist Church, and a former member of Men of the Mountains Group of men and the AARP.
He is survived by nieces, Doreen VanValkenburgh, Elaine Gockel, Beverly Gockel, Marilyn Angelotti, Barbara Howard, Shirley Riddle, Cora Lee Alexander, and Marilyn Howard and nephews, James Hull, Francis Hull, Gerald Hull, Robert Hull, and Mark Howard.
He was predeceased by brothers Robert and Francis.
Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury on Thursday Dec. 6, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the United Methodist Church, Prattsville with the Rev. Charles Gockel officiating.
Committal service will be at the Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury.
