The Andes Roundtable presents poet and storyteller Margot Farrington who will read from “Scanning For Tigers,” her latest poetry collection. These poems chart the territory of love, illness and recovery, obsession, and the struggle for survival, in unexpected ways.  Listeners are invited to share and explore how myth, folktale, and the contemporary anecdote provide fuel for the poem-to-be.  Farrington has published and performed widely.  Hunting Tavern, 7 p.m.

Saturday, June 21
Third Annual Living Cemetery History Tour, 4 to 7 p.m., sponsored by Historical Society of the Town of Middletown. Sanford Cemetery, Co. Rte. 6 (New Kingston Rd.), Dunraven (1/2 mile off NYS Route 28). One-hour guided group tours to hear costumed players portray nine former residents. Tours begin every 25 minutes starting at 4 p.m., last tour departs 7 p.m. $12 adults, $5 ages 5-15. May not be suitable for children under 5. Reservations required, phone only. The Essential Thursday Summer Performance Series, presented by the Roxbury Arts Group, which pairs exquisite music performed by extraordinary musicians and the pristine acoustics of the Old School Baptist Church kicks off at 7:30 p.m. with the Aeolus Quartet. Praised by Strad for their “high-octane” performance, the Aeolus Quartet is among the finest young string quartets performing today. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Artists Lynyrd Skynyrd will perform at this year’s Hospice Celebrity Party at Wright National Soccer Campus(formerly Soccer Hall of Fame) in Oneonta.
