Teams got a kick at MCS indoor tourney

The Margaretville Booster Club held its sixth annual Booster Club Indoor Soccer Tournament this past weekend.
The competition for teams of sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders was held Friday night. The Ellenville Young Guns defeated Margaretville’s Yee Borshky in the championship match to finish first; Ellenville’s Junior Gunners finished third while Margaretville’s Popp’n Pop Tarts took fourth.
In the high school boys’ tournament, Delhi-Tucker defeated the Margaretville Mambas in the final to finish first. The Margaretville Ruffnecks took third place while the team from Walton finished fourth.
A team from Schenevus took first place in the high school girls’ bracket, defeating Margaretville in the championship match. The Herrons team from Delhi finished third and Walton took fourth place.
In the Old Timers’ bracket, the Margaretville Magic defeated the Crew from Cooperstown in the finals as Delaware took third and Inter-Rhinebeck finished fourth.
Tournament chair Donnie Bramley expressed gratitude to the tournament sponsors as well as to Margaretville Central School and its staff for their continued support and for making the event a success.
