Taking Wing: Students rapt by raptors

Roxbury Central School fourth-graders were treated to a wildlife lecture and bird-of-prey demonstration Tuesday morning by Bill Robinson of Saugerties, a retired science teacher and wildlife expert. Robinson kept his audience in rapt attention as he showed off several hawks and a turkey buzzard that he had raised from a chick. The program was made possible by a grant attained by RCS teacher Barb Cella and Fleischmanns resident Carl Shader, a long-time friend of Robinson’s. The program included flight and feeding demonstrations. More information about the program is available at robinsonswildlifelectures.com. — Photo by Dick Sanford
