Stream cleaning supplies available from CWC

Looking for a meaningful way to observe Earth Day this month? Consider getting to know your local stream a little better with a stream cleanup project.
The Catskill Watershed Corporation (CWC) will again this year support groups and individuals who clean litter and other debris from stream banks in their neighborhoods.
Individuals, youth, and school groups, church organizations, civic and business associations, neighborhood groups and teams of friends are encouraged to scour stream banks and riversides for trash and to dispose of it properly.
The CWC will provide trash bags, gloves and tokens of appreciation to volunteers. Call Kim Ackerley at 586-1400, Ext 305 to arrange to get these items.
American Rivers is calling for groups to participate in the National River Cleanup effort this spring. To register your cleanup activity, participate in a photo contest, and to get more information, visit and click on the “Take Action” tab.
