Storytelling Troupe performs at Andes

Andes — The Community Storytelling Troupe is gearing up for yet another great season of free storytelling concerts and workshops.
This year’s activities kick off with a performance by the Albany-based musical storytelling duo “Tales ’n Tunes” this Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Andes Library. “Tales ‘n Tunes,” aka storyteller Carol Connolly and musician Don Darmer, will bring folk and fairy tales to life for young and old with their repertoire of tales from around the world.
The free concert will be followed by a potluck dinner and veggie swap meet. (Yep, you read that right!) If you have a veggie garden and want to share some of your bounty (or not so bounty, let’s face it, it’s not been the best season!), please bring some veggies to show-off and share for the swap meet. No veggies? No problem! Please join us still for the stories and/or for the potluck dinner after the show. All the festivities get underway at 6 p.m. Beverages are provided by the library.
At this fun, kick-off event, you can learn more about the free storytelling workshops offered by the Community Storytelling Troupe this fall. Workshops are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 16 and are open to youth and adults, novice and veteran storytellers alike.
For more information about the workshops or the event taking place on Thursday, Aug. 27, please contact Troupe Director Laurie McIntosh at 845 676-4727.
