Stop hydrofracking in region

 To The Editor:
I would like to thank the Andes Town Board for their work and their vote on the temporary moratorium on heavy industry in our town.   A majority of the residents of Andes do not want to see hydrofracking in Andes and feel that Andes should take action to prevent it, even though at present, it is not going to be allowed in the watershed.

Having a law on the books that prevents industry such as hydrofracking, should the DEC change its mind on the watershed prohibition,  will let everyone know that this kind of hazardous drilling will never happen here.  Our local products will be safe to eat and drink and Andes will continue to be a wonderful place to live and visit.

I hope other towns in Delaware County have the same vision as our town board.
