State and local primary registration deadline set

Delhi — Friday Aug. 17 is the last day to register for the state and local primary election to be held on Thursday Sept. 13. New registrations must be post marked by Friday Aug. 17 to vote in the September primary.

There is a Conservative Party Primary in the 101st Assembly District that includes the towns of Andes, Bovina, Davenport, Delhi, Hamden and Meredith. Voters must be registered Conservatives to vote in the Conservative Primary.

There is also a Republican Party Primary in the 101st Assembly district (same towns as above) and a Republican Party Primary in the 51st Senatorial district that includes the towns of Andes, Bovina, Davenport, Franklin, Harpersfield, Kortright, Meredith, Middletown, Roxbury, Sidney and Stamford.  Voters must be registered Republicans to vote in the Republican Party Primary.
This year’s primary date is Thursday, Sept. 13, not the usual Tuesday schedule. Polls will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 13.
