'Spring Forward' show at Longyear

Margaretville — Opening this week at the Longyear Gallery is “Spring Forward,” a group show featuring the work of Longyear Gallery members. The artists’ reception will take place on Saturday, March 16, from 3-6 p.m.

The works on display will include new work by Longyear’s 24 members, who each work in different media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, ceramics, collage, and photography. “All of us are excited about the changing light as spring arrives and the way the light influences our work,” notes local artist Nat Thomas. “Our group shows give us the opportunity to showcase all our artists together before this year’s featured artists begin having their solo shows from Memorial Day through Thanksgiving,” adds photographer and gallery member Helane Levine-Keating.

Upcoming Longyear Gallery shows include two more group shows from April 12-29 and from May 3-27, followed by the May 31-June 24 show of member Amy Masters.

Longyear Gallery’s show “Spring Forward” will be on display from March 15 through April 8. Longyear Gallery is located Upstairs at The Commons, 785 Main Street, Margaretville. Gallery hours are Friday, Sunday, and Monday 11 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., and by appointment.
