Show community support for Dr. Fiore

To The Editor:
I am writing this letter as an outreach to the community. It is in reference to the Margaretville Health Center. It has come to my attention that the Health Center is being sold and we are going to lose Dr. Susan Fiore. A well-placed source told me that Dr. Fiore has already been given a 90-day termination notice.

My husband and I moved here 18 years ago. We never thought we would have trouble getting a doctor to take care of us. The first couple of years we were here the doctors came and went. Finally, 13 years ago, we got Dr. Fiore. We’ve been very happy with her medical care ever since but now it appears she’s leaving. We don’t know where to turn.

Let’s all do what we can to keep her here. I am going to start a petition drive and I’d like everyone else who would like her to stay to sign the petition and help me.

I think it’s very important that she stay here. I also worry about all of the other employees in the Health Center. My source says the hospital is selling the Margaretville Health Center to a new doctor and that he will bring in his own people to run the business. Will all the locals who have worked with Dr. Fiore be out of jobs?

If you care about Margaretville Hospital and the Margaretville Health Center, please call me. It might not be too late to keep Dr. Fiore here if enough people show their support for her. My phone number is 586-4094.
