Don and Reba Brainerd had surprise guests on Thursday, June 10 when their son Wayne, daughter-in-law, Val and grandson Vince arrived from Colorado Springs, Colo. On Friday their granddaughter Kate and husband Kenny also arrived from Colorado. It turned out to be a surprise 52nd anniversary dinner party Saturday evening for Don and Reba at Plattekill Mt. Ski Lodge planned by their children with help from other family members.
A wonderful time was had with 135 guests present. They all left Monday to go back home to Colorado.
Last Friday Gero Frommholz, a Rotary Exchange Student from Spenge, Germany, had lunch and spent the afternoon with Don and Reba Brainerd. Gero was entertained by the Brainerds when he was an Exchange Student in 1992-93.
Elton Ridge entertained the following guests at luncheon last Tuesday: Ms. Gloria Myers and Ms. Betty Lou Whiteker of Kingston; Beverly Whitmore of Durham, North Carolina and Billie Beirne of Roxbury.
Vincent, Tamara, Kristin and Greg Snyder went golfing on their annual Father’s Day event at Shephard Hills Sunday.
Cynthia Bradley of Mt. Kisco, took her father, Julian Wiedemann out to lunch at the Flour Patch in Margaretville to celebrate Father’s Day.
Dan Underwood visited his daughter, Mary over the weekend and they attended a concert at Croton-on-Hudson and went out for dinner. He returned home Monday.
Robin Tischmacher treated his father, George to dinner at Brooks in Oneonta on Father’s Day.
The community was saddened to learn of the passing of Virginia Gilham Conine this past Sunday.
