On Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2:30 p.m. the Community Chorale of the Catskills presents its annual winter concert at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Main Street, Roxbury. The program, under the direction of Richard Tucker, will offer a variety of seasonal selections. Mark Hayes’ “Magnificat” and three choruses from Handel’s “Messiah” will be featured. A freewill donation will be accepted.
Christine Thorington, manager, Grand Gorge Senior Dining Center at the Civic Center, announces a Christmas ham dinner on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 11:45 a.m. for a suggested donation of $5. To reserve your place at the table, call Christine the day before at 607 588-6166.
Postmistresses Lori Camillone, Halcottsville and Andrea Cammer, Tannersville, were on hand at the Holiday Farmers’ Market at the Round Barn on Saturday, Nov. 29. The two ladies demonstrated the proper method for wrapping packages to be shipped by the United States Postal Service. They also sold holiday stamps and cards and gift items, including 2008 sets of commemorative stamps.
Lori says “Come on over” to the Halcottsville Post Office, or your nearest post office, to select gifts ranging from Marvel Comics to a Postal Service Truck, and a “mailbox” bank. The “Nutcracker” and other holiday stamps await your purchase.
