Nancy Finch attended a picnic gathering held Saturday, Aug. 14 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Standhart in South Gilboa.
It was a get-together of about 20 local people who spend the winter in Florida at Lake Weir Harbor Estates near Summerfield, Fla. The group enjoyed reminiscing and spending time with friends.
Robert VanAken and wife, Catherine, of Fairfax Va. and Eleanor Eigenbrode of Wesford, Pa., have been spending a few days with their sister, Doris Kelly in Halcottsville.
Little Drew Jacob Mattice, son of Rachel and Larry Mattice Jr. of Schenevus, was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Roxbury Sunday. Betty Sherwood also attended a barbecue which followed at the home of Rande and Sue Sherwood in Vega.
Betty Sherwood attended a baptismal picnic Saturday at Perch Lake for Mackenzie Scully, daughter of Chucky and Sarah Scully of New Kingston.
Vivian Wade of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is spending some time with her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Dick Kuhlow at her mountain retreat.
Rex and Rosalie Wheeler and son, Bill and his wife of North Carolina visited his mother, Thelma Wheeler last Saturday.
Esther Snyder attended a post-graduation party Saturday at Delhi for Felicia Finch, the granddaughter of her cousin, Vivian Blakeslee. A buffet was enjoyed by the guests. Felicia will be attending college at NYC and anticipates doing something in the field of music. Felicia’s mother, Kelly, is the daughter of Norman and Vivian Blakeslee who were former residents of Margaretville.
Wednesday afternoon Esther Snyder visited her cousin and his wife, Ralph and Cora Felter at Kelly Corners.
Perhaps everyone else knew this bit of news but the writer of this column was some surprised to call the phone number listed for David Zeiset and he said they were no longer living in Roxbury but moved to Port Charlotte, Fla. last year!
