Led by experienced children’s theater director and educator Nancy Bondurant-Couch and singer, songwriter, producer and award winning after-school program director Kelly Wohlford, campers will learn a mini-musical and a concert to perform in front of an audience at the end of the week.
The Roxbury Arts Group will also be offering two dance classes led by professional dancer Victoria Lundell. Creative Movement is for young dancers between the ages of 4 and 6 and will celebrate their creative expression and imagination by introducing rhythm exercises, awareness of the body and basic ballet through creative approaches. Ballet will be offered for the five to eight year olds and will introduce these young dancers to the practice of ballet, an important foundation for all dance forms.
The John Scarpulla & Friends concert series slated for the Carriage House Theater at 76 MAIN! features northeast favorite and lyrical master John Scarpulla to perform and emcee the evenings. Scarpulla will introduce three different singer/songwriters: Walker Hornung, known for his blend of rock and Trinidadian soca, will perform with Scarpulla on June 29; on July 27 Sophie Gault with her rich, soulful voice and foot-stomping guitar playing will take to the stage.
