Catskill Mountain News editor Dick Sanford has announced that Delhi resident Cheryl Petersen will begin covering the Delaware County Board of Supervisors’ meetings for the newspaper.
Said Sanford, “I’ve seen our lack of coverage of the county board as a hole in our news product for some time and I’m very happy to have Cheryl fill that hole for the paper. I’m sure our readers will be interested in her work.”

Petersen is also a full-time writer for Delhi’s weekly newspaper, the Delaware County Times, and a contributing writer for Oneonta’s The Daily Star.

She is a native the Pacific Northwest. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree at Colorado State University, she married an orchardist in Washington State. They raised two children and fostered children for 15 years while living and working on their orchard.

After her family was grown, she and her husband sold their orchard and begin looking for an adventure; which ended with them buying a house in Delhi. She and her husband then rode their motorcycles across the United States on Highway 2 and became residents of Delaware County five years ago.
