Randall V. Peck, 71, of Assumption, IL died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at home.
Randall was born July 1, 1942 in Phoenicia, the son of Charles and Genevieve (Barley) Peck. He was delivered at home by his father.
Randall attended grade school in a three-room schoolhouse in Phoenicia and finished at Onteora Central School.
Randall was drafted into the United States Army and during his time of service he received several medals including the Air Medal with 11th Oak leaf Cluster and V Device for Heroic actions above and beyond the call of duty.
Randall was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10641, National Rifle Association, National Hunting Association and ABATE Motorcycle Club. Randall contributed to John Cochran Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Children’s Hospital, and VFW National Home for Children, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Help & Hope for Soldiers Returning Home from War.
Surviving are his sons, Vincent (Brenda) Peck of Assumption, Rodney Peck and fiancé Sara Christian of Taylorville, IL, Stephen (Chanel) Peck of Taylorville, IL; daughter, Madeline (Danny) Lowis of Taylorville; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; brothers, Alfred (Marge) Peck of Shandaken, and George Peck of Haines City, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 7 in Seitz Funeral Home, Assumption, IL.
