Public invited to tree lighting in Andes Dec. 6
Andes — The Village of Andes kicks off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. Residents will gather at Bohlman Park, adjacent to the library. When the tree it lit, everyone will join in singing Christmas carols while they wait for Santa to arrive by fire truck. He’ll be bringing gifts for all the children and taking careful note of their Christmas wishes.
After Santa leaves to go back to the North Pole, everyone will walk up the street to the Hunting Tavern Museum, where the Andes Society for History and Culture will have its Christmas Open House. Volunteers will serve everyone an array of gourmet soups, freshly baked bread, mulled cider, hot chocolate and cookies.
It will be a great time to renew old friendships and make new ones as all of us begin the holiday season. Come and join us and bring the kids. All events are free of charge and everyone is welcome. Call 676-3200 for more information.
